About Me
Hi! My name is Megan and I am a lover of books and going for walks! I started reading for leisure in 2021 and have been unable to stop since!
When I am working, I use a mainly person-centred counselling approach. This essentially means that the focus of therapy is on you. It also means that I do not tell you what to do, as I believe that you are the expert on yourself and your experiences- not me.
I believe the most beneficial aspect of therapy is having a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about things (past, present or future) that are concerning you- another key aspect of person-centred counselling.
I favour this approach as I feel it is rare nowadays, that when people communicate with others, they actually listen. I believe that people are simply waiting for their turn to talk. And so I (and my clients) find that having a dedicated time and space to be truly listened to, can be very impactful.
If you have any questions about my counselling approach, at any point, please ask.
